Sam Hughes

I live in Ashcott. I live with my parents. My brother is the other Mr Hughes from TLE. I coach Table Tennis to children and adults. I also do lots of other things, like walk, sports, football, so I’m an all rounder.
Date you started with the company – September 2025.
School you work in – Coxley Primary.
What is the best activity to teach? The best activity I like to teach is probably, it’s hard to choose, there’s so many different ways of teaching all the sports, but I do enjoy teaching Handball.
What is the best thing about teaching? Seeing the children improve. Children that can’t necessarily do a certain skill, at the end of the session being able to do it, or be improved in it. It’s just really good to see that even though they think they can’t do it, they can!
What makes you happy at work? Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces, and seeing progress.
What do you look forward to on a work day? I enjoy doing the 1:1 side, so working with children who maybe struggle, however all of it is amazing.
What is your guilty pleasure TV show? I don’t really watch much TV shows, but I love Disney movies.
What is your go to karaoke song? It’s got to be, there’s so many to choose from…probably, I’d have to say Lady Gaga, Poker Face.
What’s you go to film? My go to film…my favourite film of all time, the one I will go to watch every time, over and over and over again, is ‘The Greatest Showman’
What’s your favourite board game? Classic Snakes and Ladders
Which team member do you think is most likely to be an undercover secret agent? It’s got to be Mr Emery!
If our team came to your place for dinner, what would you cook? Knowing the people that work for your company, I’ve got to say my specialty, sausage and mash. Out of the three things I can cook, that’s probably the one I would go for.
What is your favourite club we run at wraparound? Archery is exciting, because it’s new and the children haven’t done it before, however, the craft activities, I think, all the children join in. There might be some children that don’t want to at the start, but they all end up doing it, getting covered in glitter, and glue, and sticky tape, they love it!
